Head Coach

Bio

Martin Maldonado is in his first year at the helm of the Chemeketa men's soccer program after spending a season as the assistant in 2023.  His coaching background  is varied with head coaching stints at Gervias High School leading the varsity boy's program, as well as at French Prairie middle school coaching both boys teams.  He also has been the head coach and assistant with many club teams of varied ages and skill level.  Maldonado was also an assistant with USL2 and worked with Portland Timbers RTC.  Coach Maldonado also holds a USSF B License.

In 2019 he was hired as the Coaching Director for Capital Futbol Club in Salem, OR and has helped grow the program to be one of the largest in Oregon.  He continues that work along with his coaching position here at Chemeketa

Maldonado brings a dynamic approach to coaching with a focus on player development, teamwork, and fostering a positive team culture.  With is extensive playing and coaching experience coupled with his passion for the game.  His focus on technical proficiency, tactical awareness, and mental resiliency are critical aspects to individual player growth and team connection.  He also believes on creating an environment where players can thrive both on and off the field, believing that strong personal growth leads to collective success.

I believe it is a privilege to be a college coach and work with student athletes who are driven to improve and achieve their goals, while furthering their education.  Our program is built on a foundation of hard work, connection, and selflessness.
