Storm Softball Splits with Centralia

In game one on April 25, 2025, at Centralia College, the Centralia Trailblazers narrowly edged out the Chemeketa Storm with a final score of 3-2. The game saw a nail-biting finish that kept fans on the edge of their seats until the very end.
Chemeketa struck first in the opening inning. R. Shumaker scored the first run after J. Rule singled, bringing Shumaker home and giving Chemeketa an early 1-0 lead. Centralia responded in the third inning when S. Haury singled, driving in G. Schofield and leveling the score at 1-1. The fifth inning saw Centralia pull ahead when G. Bonney-Sp capitalized on a wild pitch, crossing home plate to put the Trailblazers up 2-1. Chemeketa's J. Rule answered back in the top of the sixth inning, launching a solo home run to left field, tying the game at 2-2 and keeping the tension high. The game hung in the balance until the bottom of the seventh when Centralia's S. Haury hit a sacrifice fly, allowing G. Bonney-Sp to score the decisive run.
A. Hernandez of Centralia was credited with the win after a complete game performance, allowing only four hits and two earned runs over seven innings. Despite the loss, Chemeketa's pitcher L. DeLoe showed resilience. DeLoe pitched 6.2 innings, striking out six, but ultimately faced defeat as Centralia's timely hitting clinched the game.
In game two Chemeketa emerged victorious with a 3-0 win against Centralia, showcasing a strong performance both offensively and defensively.
