Softball Goes 1-1 Against Grays Harbor

In game one, Grays Harbor claimed a decisive 7-1 victory over Chemeketa in their April 26, 2025 matchup in Aberdeen, WA. 

Grays Harbor's victory was established with a strong second inning, where they accrued five runs, allowing them to maintain the lead throughout the game.  C. Blood contributed offensively with a hit and an RBI. Her efforts were complemented by M. Villalba, whose performance included two runs, one hit, and two RBIs, and three stolen bases, adding pressure to Chemeketa's defense.

Chemeketa struggled to find their rhythm against Grays Harbor's pitcher, C. Blood, who excelled on the mound with seven innings pitched, seven strikeouts, and allowing zero earned runs. Despite managing to secure a total of seven hits, they converted these opportunities into just one run, scored in the fourth inning. Chemeketa's lone RBI came from J. Vermillio, while A. Archuleta and C. Weaving stood out with multiple hits. 

Game two saw the script flip as Chemeketa emerged victorious with an 8-1 win, showcasing their offensive prowess and solid pitching.

Chemeketa took control of the game early, answering Grays Harbor's initial run in the first inning with three runs in the second inning. They maintained their lead throughout, adding a run in the third and sealing the game with a four-run burst in the seventh inning. Grays Harbor struggled to keep up despite a promising start.

Mcka. Dodge and Mcke. Dodge were pivotal for Chemeketa, each contributing significantly as Mcka. Dodge hit a home run, while Mcke. Dodge matched with his own homer and added two RBIs.  J. Rule, who also chipped in a double, A. Wilsey and A. Archuleta, each contributed an RBI.  J. Rule demonstrating control and consistency across seven innings with a complete game, allowing one run with six strikeouts.

M. Erickson led Grays Harbor at the plate, recording three hits, including a double, while M. Breakfied contributed the team's sole RBI, driving in Grays Harbor's first-inning run.
