On September 24, 2025, at Sutherlin High School, a thrilling match unfolded between Chemeketa and Umpqua, resulting in a 2-2 draw that showcased the competitive spirit and resilience of both teams. Despite neither side managing to secure the victory, spectators witnessed an engaging display of talent and determination on the field.
Chemeketa took an early lead with Clarissa Lemus striking first in the 20th minute, assisted by Tatum Kiger (Pictured), setting the score at 1-0. The team doubled their advantage shortly into the second half when Tatum Kiger found the net in the 46th minute, with an assist from Isabel Flores. Kiger's performance was instrumental in Chemeketa's offensive efforts, contributing a goal and an assist while adding three shots on goal.
The match, however, was far from over. Umpqua displayed an impressive comeback, ignited by Lola Maniscalco's unassisted goal in the 64th minute to cut the deficit to 2-1. Ten minutes later, Hadley Williams leveled the score with a crucial goal, assisted by Ginne Saavedra, marking her contribution vital to Umpqua's resilience.
Both teams showed strong defensive performances, with Umpqua's goalkeeper Kayden Twichell making an outstanding 10 saves against Chemeketa's 12 shots on goal. Chemeketa's goalkeeper, Ella Holwege, also made significant contributions with four saves from six shots on target.
