In a decisive 3-0 victory, the Chemeketa women's soccer team overpowered Clackamas on September 5, 2025, at the Clackamas home field in Oregon City. This triumph marks a continuation of Chemeketa's strong season start, now boasting a 2-1-2 overall record, with a 2-0-1 standing in their conference. Meanwhile, Clackamas stands at 1-5-0 overall and 1-2-0 in the conference.
Chemeketa set the tone early in the match, with Candy Garcia scoring an unassisted goal at 6:42 in the first half. Not long after, at 21:25, Clarissa Lemus (pictured - 7) doubled the lead, also finding the net unassisted. The second half saw Chemeketa solidify their win with another unassisted goal from Avery Anunsen (pictured - 23) at 58:58, bringing the final score to 3-0.
Chemeketa's offensive play was commendable, as they registered 13 shots, with 9 on target. In contrast, Clackamas managed to take only 5 shots, with 4 reaching the goal. Chemeketa's defense, led by goalkeeper Ella Holwege, was impenetrable, as she saved all 4 shots on goal from Clackamas.
